North Light

2004 Epsom Derby

Sir Michael Stoute followed trainer Aiden O'Brien's example two years before him by weighing in with his second consecutive Epsom Derby winner in 2004. Joint favourite North Light was the winning horse for him, ridden by jockey Kieran Fallon, who had also been in the saddle on Kris Kin twelve months earlier. This was Sir Michael Stoute's fourth winner in the race, who beat Rule Of Law into second place by a distance of one and a half lengths. The other joint favourite was the Saeed Bin Suroor trained Snow Ridge for Godolphin who could only finish seventh.
