Carlton House Betting
Carlton House is this year's main Epsom Derby hope for trainer Sir Michael Stoute. Owned by the Queen, the three year old raced only twice as a two year old, winning a division two maiden stakes at Newbury on his last start last October and finishing second on his racecourse debut at Salisbury last September.
Sir Michael Stoute has won the Derby on five occassions since his first success in 1981 with Shergar. Most recently Stoute won the race with Workforce twelve months ago and he'll be hoping that he can repeat that feat with Carlton House.
The three year old hadn't been seen on a racecourse in 2011 but was an impressive winner of the Dante Stakes at York in May. The horse owned by the Queen pulled hard early on but put distance between he and favourite Seville on the run-in and now has serious claims as a Derby winner.
