The first race of the Epsom Derby meeting is the Princess Elizabeth Stakes which has been moved forward from Saturday this year. Run over one mile and half a furlong. Winner of this Group 3 contest in 2013 was the 3/1 shot Thistle Bird trained by Roger Charlton and ridden by James Doyle.

The second race on Ladies Day is the Investec Wealth & Investment Handicap, a one mile and two furlong handicap which was won in 2013 by Resurge at odds of 6/1.

The Group 3 Diomed Stakes is third on the card, run over a mile and half a furlong. Last year, John Gosden saddled Gregorian to victory at odds of 3/1 with William Buick taking the ride.

Fourth up is the Investec Mile, which was clinched by Vainglory in 2013 as Martin Lane guided him to glory for trainer David Simcock. As a prelude to the big race of the day, this race gives punters an idea of what is required to win at Epsom Downs Racecourse.

The Investec Oaks is the third Classic of the season and is raced over one mile and four furlongs. 20/1 shot Talent trained by Ralph Beckett won the 2013 renewal beating 3/1 chance Secret Gesture into second place, with The Lark back in third.

The penultimate race on day one of the Epsom Derby meeting is the Surrey Stakes, a listed race run over seven furlongs. The race went to 4/1 chance Well Acquainted for Clive Cox in 2013.

Finally, the Opportunity Stakes completes Ladies Day, a competitive handicap raced over seven furlongs. 9/2 shot Heaven's Guest won in 2013 as Richard Fahy's 3-year-old took the spoils from Intrigo.
