Fame and Glory
Fame and Glory is the joint favourite for the Derby following his excellent win in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown. He is now the horse that many punters are backing for The Epsom Derby . He won well on his seasonal debut at Leopardstown in April in a race that is seen as a good marker for bigger things to come. That win saw the bookies shorten his price for The Derby and fitness and form depending he is likely to be near the top end of the betting market for the big one on June 6th.
Fame and Glory has won on each of his three runs so far so clearly has potential to be a top horse. He next appeared in the Derrinstown Stud in Ireland where he was impressive once again and enhanced his Epsom Derby credentials. He impressed on-lookers and that performance saw him shoot to the top of the betting with Sea The Stars. Ballydoyle No.1 Johnny Murtagh has chosen stablemate Rip Van Winkle ahead of Fame and Glory which maybe a negative for this one, but on Derby Trial form he is still one of the top contenders and will be ridden by Seamus Heffernen.
