Father Of Science Betting
Father Of Science is yet another entry from the yard of Aidan O'Brien, who goes mob-handed in his search for a first Epsom Derby winner in 10 years. Father Of Science wasn't seen as a 2-year-old last season but has made fine progress as a 3-year-old this term and as a half-brother to 2002 Derby winner High Chaparral he could attract betting interest at Epsom.
High Chaparral was the last colt to win the Epsom Derby for Aidan O'Brien and the Irish trainer will hope his half-brother can end the drought. High Chaparral was also a dual Breeders Cup winner but O'Brien has had to wait a long time for his next Classic winner on the Downs, saddling 39 runners without success since 2002.
O'Brien's Father Of Science is ranked as an outsider by bookmakers and that looked justified after he finished fifth, despite starting 9/4 favourite, on his debut at Navan in April. However, the son of Galileo did bounce back and looked much better for the run when landing a Chester maiden over a 1m, 2½f in May. The Derby is a big step up in class but he will no doubt attract some each-way interest.

VERDICT: Half-brother to 2002 Epsom Derby winner High Chaparral, Father O Science got off to an inauspicious start on his debut but won at Chester last time out. Big step up in class here.
