Hans Holbein Betting
Hans Holbein is set to try and hand Aidan O'Brien more success in the Epsom Derby, when the impressive Chester Vase winner heads to the Classic race on June 6, for what will be a sparkling renewal of the 1m 4f Group 1 contest and one of the highlights of the Flat season.
- 4th April 2015 - Cork - Blackwater Maiden - 1m 2f - 2nd
- 15th April 2015 - Leopardstown - Bulmers Live At Leopardstown Maiden - 1m 2f - 1st
- 7th May 2015 - Chester - Chester Vase (Group 3) - 1m 4f - 1st
Once raced as a juvenile, Hans Holbein may not have been regarded as the premier Classic contender to go to battle with this season, but the son of Montjeu has blossomed as the season has gone on and he will now aim to continue on an upward curve and bag victory in the 2015 Epsom Derby on June 6.
He kicked off the season with a defeat in a Cork maiden, where he was a red-hot favourite, but he managed to bag his first success next time up at Leopardstown, where he relished the 1m 2f distance and showed that he could be another Group winning performer for the Ballydoyle operation.
However, he launched into the Classic reckoning when bounding to victory in the Group 3 Chester Vase on May 7 and with stablemate Ruler Of The World having won that prize for O'Brien before going on to Derby success then Hans Holbein will be aiming to emulate that sparkling double.

VERDICT: Hans Holbein may not be the premier three-year-old in the Aidan O'Brien stable, but he showed terrific resolve on the front end in the Chester Vase and he could be a major each-way player when lining up in the 2015 Epsom Derby.
