Jack Hobbs Betting
Jack Hobbs is a prominent figure in the betting for the 2015 Epsom Derby and the John Gosden-trained Dante Stakes runner-up could attempt to reverse that York Group 2 form with stablemate Golden Horn when he lines up in the Group 1 Classic on June 6.
- 24th April 2015 - bet365 Handicap - Sandown Park - 1m 2f 7y - 1st
- 14th May 2015 - Dante Stakes (Group 2) - York - 1m 2f - 2nd
Jack Hobbs was only seen once as juvenile when landing a Wolverhampton maiden, but he launched into the forefront of Derby punter's minds when he romped to a sensational 12-length victory in a Sandown Park handicap, and he was touted as a potential future star of the turf for John Gosden.
He showed a blistering turn of foot for Frankie Dettori that day and was immediately slashed to one of the favourites for the Epsom Derby, but he was to be handed his toughest test to date next time up when he lined up in the Group 2 Dante Stakes at York on May 15, which is one of the elite Derby trials.
However, his unbeaten start to his career came to an end as he was outclassed by stablemate Golden Horn, as he showed signs of not being the polished article, so if they pair lock horns at Epsom on June 6 then Jack Hobbs will need to improve if he is turn to that form from Knavesmire around.

VERDICT: A stunning handicap victory at Sandown Park by Jack Hobbs left people open-mouthed as he stormed clear, but he was edged out in the Dante Stakes next time up by stablemate Golden Horn and he will have form to find with that runner come June 6 in the Derby.
