Lingfield Derby Trial
The Lingfield Derby Trial is a well known Group 3 preparation race for horses aged 3 years. It is run over 1 mile and 3 furlongs, in May each year and has produced eight subsequent winners of the Epsom Derby, the latest of which was High Rise, trained by Luca Cumani in 1998.
Other well known dual winners have been Kahyasi, also trained by Cumani, Teenoso, trained by Geoff Wragg and probably the most well known of them all, Slip Anchor, who won both races in 1985 and who was trained by Henry Cecil.

Richard Hannon's Humphrey Bogart was a half-length winner of the Lingfield Derby Trial in early May, as he fought off Carntop and Across The Stars in a race that may have little bearing on top notch Investec Derby form.
