Moheet is an outsider for the 2015 Investec Derby and he is set to make the huge step up in distance from a mile for the 1m 4f contest, but Richard Hannon's charge will add some depth to the race as he has been racing in some elite contests this season and is certainly not a no-hoper.
- 2nd May 2015 - Newmarket - 2000 Guineas (Group 1) - 1m - 8th
- 16th April 2015 - Newmarket - Craven Stakes (Group 3) - 1m - 3rd
Richard Hannon has always thought highly of Moheet after he won his maiden at Salisbury as a juvenile, but the son of High Chaparall will need to improve on what he has shown as a three-year-old when he lines up in a fascinating renewal of the Investec Derby at Epsom Downs on June 6.
He kicked off his campaign with a creditable third placed finish in the Group 3 Craven Stakes at Newmarket, before he returned to Flat HQ for the QIPCO 2000 Guineas, but he was comfortably dispatched by the classy Gleneagles in that Classic, and Hannon's raider could only finish eighth.
He will now make the step up in distance and his stamina will be tested, but being by a classy staying sire then he could relish the extra half-a-mile here and will add some depth to the field, as he aims to hand his trainer his first victory in the most prestigious Flat race in the UK calendar.

VERDICT: Moheet was unable to land a blow in the 2000 Guineas and it could prove to be that he's not up to Group 1 Classic level, but the step up in trip may aid his chances and Richard Hannon's charge is an interesting outsider.
