Sea The Stars
Sea The Stars shot straight to the top of The Derby betting market with his impressive win in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket at the beginning of May. In that race he was a relative outsider behind more fancied runners such as Delegator and Rip Van Winkle but he produced an excellent display which caused all the major bookies to clip him right in for The Derby.
Sea The Stars certainly has a good pedigree being the half-brother to Galileo who won The Derby in 2001 and he has now won his last three races in-a-row. There have been some good noises coming from connections of Sea The Stars and that was backed up with his win in the 2000 Guineas. Although there was two good wins last season, neither of those performances however had convinced people he would be a winning Derby horse until this latest win at Newmarket. Mick Kinane will take the ride on the Sea The Stars and many are backing this one for greatness at Epsom this weekend.
