Thought Worthy Betting
Thought Worthy is set to head to Epsom Derby as the leading and only entry of trainer John Gosden. The son of Dynaformer was seen once as a 2-year-old last term, winning over a mile on soft ground at Newcastle. He has been seen twice this season and has made enough of an impression for bookmakers to clip him in to around the 25/1 mark for Epsom glory.
John Gosden has tasted Epsom Derby success only once before during his career as a trainer but it is perhaps significant that his last winner was Benny The Dipper, who like Thought Worthy finished second in the Bet 365 Classic Trial at Sandown prior to winning the Derby in 1997.
Thought Worthy made his seasonal reappearance in the Bet 365 Classic Trial, losing out by a length and three quarters to Imperial Monarch. The 3-year-old returned to winning ways in May though as he won the one mile, two furlongs Fairway Stakes by a neck from the well fancied Noble Mission at Newmarket.

VERDICT: Thought Worthy treads the same path as John Gosden's previous Derby winner Benny The Dipper, who was also runner-up in the Bet 365 Classic Trial prior to landing the Epsom Classic.
